Thank you so much for visiting my website, Wire Adorned. The purpose of my work is to honor and celebrate the Splendor of Women of All Cultures. ‘All cultures’ include traditional and contemporary jewelry worn by women from Africa to Asia to Australia to the Americas, and Europe.
The name Wire Adorned was inspired by one of my favorite books, Africa Adorned by Angela
Fisher. A magnificent book filled with splendid photos of one of our oldest cultures. My personal library is bursting with books representing cultures on all Continents. I take great pride in the fact that all of my designs are original, handmade and one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry. After all we're worth it.
Over the past six years, my passion for adorning wire has multiplied into adorning and designing with sheet metal, precious and semi-precious metal clays, various methods of casting with molten metal, weaving with Fine (99.9%) Silver, stone setting and lapidary where I cut my own stones. My most recent passions are working with enamel and fold-forming metal. My 2012 interests have taken me to electro-plating and electro-forming. I always seem to have some type of experiment brewing in my home studio.
So please, sit down and relax as I invite you to join me on an exciting journey around the globe in celebration of the Splendor of Woman of all Cultures. Please feel free to contact me personally if you have any comments or questions.
Enjoy, Judith
